Sheer khurma or sheer khorma (Persian: شير خرما, is a celebration vermicelli pudding arranged by Muslims on Eid ul-Fitr and Eid al-Adha in Afghanistan, Pakistan, India and parts of Central Asia. It is a conventional Muslim merry breakfast,[a] and a dessert for festivities. This dish is made using different dry fruit products, vermicelli, thickened milk, sugar and so on. Depending upon the district, cardamom, pistachios, almonds, cloves, saffron, raisins, and rose water are additionally included.
This unique dish is served on the morning of Eid day in the family after the Eid prayer as breakfast, and for the duration of the day to all the meeting visitors. It is exceptionally well known all through the Indian Subcontinent and Central Asia.
Vermicelli are fried in butter. At that point milk (sheer) is included and the vermicelli are permitted to cook further. As the blend thickens, sugar and dates (khajoor) are included alongside some other dried fruits.
Well, I have also used mini rose petals for decoration and it looks amazing and made my day even in lockdown. :D Here is my mom recipe cooked by me.
Ingredients:
- Milk 1 litter
- Coconut milk - 1 Coconut
- Vermicelli - 1/4 kg
- Sugar - 1/2 kg
- Ghee - 100 gm
- Almond - 50 gm
- Kaju - 50 gm
- Dates - 50 gm
- Pista - 50 gm
- Soaked Rice - 1/4 cup
- Cardamom - 5-6
- Kuskus - 50 gm
- Charoli - 50 gm
- Bhilawa seeds - 5-6
- Khoya - 100 gm
- Akrot - 50 gm
- Water - 1 glass for extracting coconut milk, 1 glass for girding dry fruits.
Grind fresh coconut pulp and extract the milk. Then make thin consistany paste of dates and akrot and extract the juice.
Fry the chopped dry fruits in ghee: almond, pista, kaju, charoli, and bilawa seeds.
The mix of coconut juice, khoya, dates and akrot juice and vermicelli looks like picture.
Finally, make the mix cool down and add the milk in the mix.
Garnish with fried dried fruits and serve.
