Ingredients:

For Vegetable Balls

  • 1 Cup grated carrot
  • 1 Small cabbage chopped
  • 3 Capsicum chopped
  • 1/4 Cup Spring Onion chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • 3 tbsp Maida
  • 2 tbsp cornflour
  • half tbsp salt
  • 1 pinch Ajinomoto
  • 2 Green Chillies chopped
  • 1 tsp Garlic chopped
  • 4 tbsp oil to fry


For Gravy: 

  1. 1 Finely chopped garlic
  2. 1 finely chopped ginger
  3. 1 finely chopped green chilly
  4. 1 cup finely chopped spring onion
  5. 1/2 tbsp soya sauce
  6. 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
  7. 1 tsp vinegar
  8. 1 cup water or vegetable stock
  9. half tsp salt and half tsp sugar 
  10. 1 tbsp oil
  11. 1 tbsp green spring onion for garnish

How to make Vegetable Manchurian balls?

Mix all chopped veggies and other ingredients like green chilies, salt, black pepper, garlic, and Ajinomoto. Add maida and corn flour. Add very little water to make the dough.

If you add more water than required than it will be hard to make a ball. Becuase the flour become very sticky and as you try to make the ball it will break.

Take a small portion and make the ball do the same equally for all balls. As you make you start frying with oil in a wide pan.

Fry till it gets golden brown. Cook on medium flame so it will get cooked inside also.

The aroma will make feel really amazing of these delicious fried veg balls.

Once you complete frying all, keep it aside and start making gravy. Here I have used ching's masala. This is very easy add 1 cup water to ching's masala and mix it. On low flame bring it to boil. 

You can also add some chopped veggies to this gravy. Once it starts boiling mix all vegetable Manchurian balls into the gravy.


If you don't have ching's veg Manchurian masala, make the gravy with above mention ingredients. Make a paste of corn flour and keep aside than take a pan add oil then add garlic, ginger, chilies, veggies. Cook on low flame and add 1 cup water, then add soya sauce and tomato ketchup. Stire well, then mix cornflour paste. Keep stirring so there should not lumps.

For Garnish sprinkle green chopped spring onion.

Dil Pasand is originally from British pies with fruit or sweet fillings.  It was first introduced in Banglore when it was a garrison town in south India.
